Zaventem, Belgium – Two people without papers escape detention in airport

11/04/2011 around 9AM, immigration services arrest two passengers from a flight from Algeria with false Spanish papers. The federal police escort the men to the transit centre 127, on the site of the airport, where they should wait to be deported. Instead, the two drop their luggage and start running, zigzagging between airplanes, buses, service cars, more than 500 metres. The police run behind them, and cannot catch them. Finally, the men enter a building and steal a service car. They drive away, across the tarmac and the landing strip, hit the fence of the airport. The car is found back on the highway, no trace of the two.
