According to biteback.de and press reports, several hunting towers in Germany were destroyed in recent weeks (anti-hunting activists may not be responsible for all the fires).
In the early evening on Monday, June 28, a hunting tower was discovered on fire in Crailsheim (Baden-Württemberg). The fire department responded, but the tower was completely destroyed. The fire is believed to have been intentionally set.
In the town of Eigeltingen (Baden-Württemberg), a hunting tower was damaged by fire.
On June 25, in a wooded area of Horneburg (Lower Saxony), a mobile hunting tower went up in flames. Police estimate the damages at several thousand Euros.
Late on June 23 in Heinsberg (North Rhine-Westphalia), firefighters arrived at the site of a hunting tower on fire to find two people in dark clothes fleeing the scene. One of them was carrying a backback. The two individuals escaped, and the hunting tower burned down completely.
On June 22, firefighters in the town of Sulingen (Lower Saxony) followed a column of smoke to discover a hunting tower on fire. Damage was estimated at €1500.
