Juan Aliste Vega was arrested July 9 at the Bus Terminal of Retiro in Buenos Aires. The operation involved collaboration between the Policía Investigaciones de Chile and the Policía Federal Argentina, and led to the detention of two other people, now free.
Juan has been accused by the judiciary and the media of being responsible for the death of an officer of the Chilean Carabineros during an expropriation at Banco Security, Chile, in October 2007. This is the same robbery that comrades Freddy Fuentevilla and Marcelo Villarroel are accused of, already extradited from Argentina to Chile, after having served a sentence in Neuquén Argentina.
Now Juan has been kidnapped by the Argentine State at No. 28 Unidad courts (Lavalle and Talcahuano).
Yesterday, a small group of comrades in solidarity went to that place for news about Aliste and to try to give him some essential things, but the refusal was net, along with threats and taunts of the servant prison guards.
On Monday, the judge Santamaría will decide whether or not to expel Juan.
But the Chilean ambassador to Argentina has already stated that Argentinian president Cristina Kirchner has already signed the decree of expulsion.
We know how the different governments coordinate with judges, police and journalists when they want to point to, pursue and arrest social rebels.
Therefore, we say it is urgent to make specific pressure at least to avoid Juan being transferred to Chile, which would amount to life imprisonment.
We call on everyone to circulate this information and to begin to show solidarity to the comrade. We will give updates as soon as there are new initiatives, proposals and legal news of course.
