Services from Athens to Halkida have been interrupted as persons unknown have cut the cables.
Today, in the early hours of the morning a new incident of sabotage to the train lines was detected in Kiourka, as some unknown persons had cut the electrical cables and removed materials, which had as a consequence the interruption of train services from Athens to Halkida. Long delays have also occurred in regards to other scheduled services, which are being carried out by buses.
Incidents of sabotage have increased over the past months, an event which has troubled the management of the Greek Railways Organization. Significantly, in the last three weeks an equal number of sabotage incidents have taken place on the railway section from Athens to Inoi.
