Renata Zelazna is a Polish anarchist and vegan that has been studying and living in Holland. She is also a friend of many of us here because she spent some time living in Brighton, England. We received a letter from her recentlydetailing what has happened to her. The notes I made from her letter are below. We are going to write a letter appeal about her, send out more info and what she needs done but I just wanted to send this out to people now to let people know details ASAP. We'll make it all shorter but the detail here shows how bad she's been treated.Obviously she needs some good legal advice fast and people are looking into getting her an account for money donations. If there is anyone on this forum who is more local to the Netherlands who knows useful institutions/organisations for legal advice etc. please let us know. More updates to follow......

Dear Sirs/madam
I am writing to you today to bring awareness of a young Polish lady, Renata Zelazna who is currently in prison in Holland on a charge of attempted murder of a police man, My friends, who are close to her, say this is not her character and she is a peaceful vegan student vet, who was arrested by a non uniformed man who burst into her home shortly after a brief fracases with some builders next door to her student accommodation, as she was preparing food she had a knife in her hand and was disarmed brutally by the the non uniformed man who she thought was a builder, then a police woman stepped in spayed her with gas and cuffed her, dragging her out backwards from her home, she was later allegedly sexually assaulted by the male officer, she was not given any medical assistance nor any sanitary towels for her period and was not given any legal redress or translator when she was brought before a magistrate, when she was returned to prison she found out she is up for 6 to 12 years for attempted murder of the police office, and as she is Polish and the proceedings took place in Dutch she was unaware of even what her charges were.
Please can you advise us of how and to whom we should make a written complaint to the Dutch authorities and hopefully get Renate released so she can continue her studies in Holland.
We have a facebook group, free Renate Zelazna, there is also a website with info and I am sure her Polish friends are also campaigning.

Ik schrijf u vandaag om de bewustwording van een jonge Poolse dame, Renata Zelazna die momenteel in de gevangenis is in Nederland op een beschuldiging van poging tot moord op een politie man te brengen, Mijn vrienden, die dicht bij haar zeggen dat dit niet haar karakter en ze is een rustige veganist student dierenarts, die werd gearresteerd door een niet geüniformeerde man die in haar huis barstte kort na een korte fracases met een aantal bouwers naast haar studentenhuisvesting, want ze was het bereiden van voedsel ze had een mes in haar hand en op brute wijze ontwapend door de niet geüniformeerde man die ze dacht dat het een bouwer dan een politie-vrouw stapte in haar gesteriliseerd met gas en geboeid haar, haar uit te slepen naar achteren uit haar huis, later werd ze seksueel misbruikt zou zijn door de mannelijke agent, ze kreeg geen medische hulp, noch geen maandverband voor haar periode en kreeg geen juridische beroepsmogelijkheden of vertaler toen ze voor een rechter gebracht, toen ze was teruggekeerd naar de gevangenis ze erachter kwam dat ze voor 6 tot 12 jaar voor poging tot moord van het politiebureau, en omdat ze Pools is en de procedure vond plaats in het Nederlands dat ze zich niet bewust was van zelfs wat haar lasten waren.
Kunt u ons op de hoogte van hoe en aan wie we moeten een schriftelijke klacht indienen bij de Nederlandse autoriteiten en hopelijk Renate vrijgegeven, zodat ze kunnen blijven haar studie in Nederland.
We hebben een Facebook-groep, vrij Renate Zelazna, is er ook een website met info en ik ben ervan overtuigd dat haar Poolse vrienden zijn ook campagne voeren.

ReplyDeleteRenata is now released from prison and has contacted us because should would like the info on the internet about her removed. I was wondering if it would be possible to remove the info about her you have posted on this page?
