31 Jan 2011 - The region of Charleroi, but also around Liège, was touched yesterday by a wave of strikes and blockades against the new Interprofessional Agreement which will harden working conditions for all working.
Also, several heavy industries have been blocked by striking pickets, like Arcelor Mittal; as well as shops and supermarkets like Inno, Carrefour, Champion.
At some place, all economic activity was paralysed.
In the meantime, Belgium still doesn't have a government, there's only the old government of "current affairs" and they are not sure whether they have the legal authority to push through this new Agreement.
Unions have announced they will probably call for a general strike.
