- One dead was the outcome of a new confrontation that occurred between informal miners and police in the province of Cajabamba, Cajamarca, after storming a mining camp in the area. According to the correspondent of RPP, on Monday another would have been died in a similar fracas, which has been confirmed by local police source.
During the police intervention, the miners attacked the police with dynamite, leaving one wounded who was rushed to hospital in the area.
However, the workers said that the police caused the confrontation and the dead produced so far, so they demanded their withdrawal from the area to prevent further people being affected.
