03/07/2011 - Three prisoners escaped from prison in Porrentruy (JU) Sunday at 12:40. They locked their guard in a cell before fleeing. French and Swiss police and border guards were mobilized to find them.
The escape took place after lunch. When they went back to the cell, two prisoners attacked their jailer before he locked them up. They then released another prisoner.
Before taking flight, the three men changed into civilian clothes. The guard broke the window of the cell to raise the alarm. A police patrol arrived on the scene shortly after the escape.
The general alarm was then raised. Three dogs and a helicopter were deployed to support search operations.
The three escapees were in custody. One for robbery and two for burglary.
